GLEE
I can’t believe I didn’t come up with the concept for this program!
It is literally the greatest thing known to mankind…a TV show AND a musical ALL IN ONE. Glee is just amazing, it has only just started on TV in the UK but I’ve clearly watched all the episodes to date on the internet and it’s now my favourite show ever.
My favourite moment/song so far has been the cover of ‘Sweet Caroline’. Partly because of the character Puck who sings it and partly because I’m a sucker for Neil Diamond.
The songs aren’t made for the program, however all of them are relevant and it is so well directed at most points that it seems as though they were.
Cast members include unknown actors, as well as Broadway stars and legends including Lea Michele, Matthew Morrison and Kristin Chenoweth (1 episode). This allows for the audience to familiarise with them, as well as engage with fresh talent.
This isn’t just a post because I’m a raving fan (even though I am). It is genuinely a really clever show that uses well known and loved songs to appeal to a broad audience and address issues, as well as providing top notch entertainment to its viewers.
WATCH IT.
